Dear colleague,
we are pleased to announce OxiZymes in Leipzig. At the same time, OxiZymes will be the host of the 9th International Symposium on Peroxidases. The two-and-a-half day scientific event is scheduled for June 14 till 16, 2010.
From the beginning in Napoli (2004), then in Oeiras (2006) and in Helsinki (2008), OxiZymes ambitioned to be a platform for scientific discussion and exchange, offering a large view on all aspects of researches on oxidoreductases. It also especially fosters the integration of young scientists and the development of networks and collaborations between academia and industry. Oxizymes is now an attractive and recognized international scientific event held every other year in Europe.
The 1st International Peroxidase Symposium was arranged in Geneva in 1985. Since then, seven more meetings were organized every third or fourth years, mainly in Europe (Poland, Denmark, Austria, Spain, Portugal, and Finland), and twice outside Europe (USA 1999, and Japan 2005). The International Peroxidase Symposium series is especially focusing on the most recent scientific progress related to structure, function, production and applications of peroxidases and related as well as co-operating enzymes from various organisms.
In 2008, OxiZymes and the 8th International Peroxidase Symposium were organized one after the other in Helsinki and Tampere (Finland). Having attracted about 150 participants in total, it was decided to further build on a common platform of these two meetings which have a lot in common. A major intention for this is to consolidate European research activities on oxidoreductase enzymes and to benefit from expected synergies. Therefore, as a special feature, OxiZymes in Leipzig (2010) will host the 9th International Symposium on Peroxidases.
On behalf of the Scientific Committees, we have the pleasure to invite you in Leipzig to an OxiZymes meeting richer than ever, covering both fundamental and applied aspects of various members of the diverse and fascinating group of oxidoreductase enzymes, such as oxidases and peroxidases, mono- and dioxygenases, dehydrogenases, reductases and desaturases, halogenating and dehalogenating enzymes, etc.
We wish you all in advance a nice, fruitful and excellent scientific meeting and a pleasant stay in Leipzig!
